Below, you will find the six master classes and their descriptions that were held at the 2020 YAYAM Summit Online and the presenter’s biographies. All the additional resources have been added as well.

Guiding Spiritual Growth for You and Others

Spiritual growth can often be difficult to navigate through, whether for yourself or for the people that you take care of. In this master class, you’ll gain a better foundation in your understanding and approach towards spiritual growth.

Christine Froelich joined the movement in Dec 1973. Since graduating UTS in 1980, she has been working with young adults through CARP and STF/GPA. She has worked primarily as an educator in life of faith, teaching Divine Principle and its application, and mentoring young leaders to support their growth as they seek to share their blessings and gifts with others.


Keeping things Organized

A huge part of bringing all your ministry inspirations and goals to life is being organized - sometimes easier said than done when we're juggling full plates. This breakout will cover a bunch of helpful tricks and resources to support you in work-life balance, clarifying priorities, and organizing your time and your team!

Tasnah Bercy serves as the local pastor for Kodiak, Alaska. She also has her own event planning business and art and design gig. Together with her husband, Lukas, they own and operate a Kodiak-based sport fishing and hunting charter business.


Building a virtual community

In these unprecedented times, we're facing a need to connect virtually more than ever. How can you do that in a spiritual community with young people? Here you'll learn how you can build connection through effective vision, MCing, music, and games, tried-and-true by the NJ Young Adult YUM ministry.

Joe Leonard has raised his family in Little Falls, New Jersey and served as the Young Adult Minister in the Clifton Family Church for the past 15 years. He teaches a character education program in public schools that supports students in making healthy relationship decisions leading to a happy life, and a happy family!


Investing in young leaders

Whether you’re a parental mentor, a pastor of a community, or someone responsible for leading a team with young leaders, this session will focus on helping young leaders grow and thrive. What do young leaders need to truly be supported and inspired? The Watanabes will draw upon their own experiences and expertise in this master class.

Akira and Makiko Watanabe both have been mentoring young adults for over 20 years as GPA and CARP leaders.  While raising 4 children, they continue to learn and improve their ways to nurture and motivate young leaders.


Foundations in empathy and care

We all want our communities to feel like a family that we can trust and love - yet many of us continue to struggle in truly achieving. How can we embody principled care and love in challenging situations that arise in our communities or our relationships? This session focuses on building the foundation in true and Godly empathy and care we need for those who we interact with.

Debby Gullery has over 25 years of experience in the field of marriage and relationship education. She developed content for and taught seminars on character and core value development, marriage preparation, and marriage enrichment. She has also worked for 6 years as the Director of Counseling for the national BFM and currently has her own practice coaching individuals and couples. Debby is the author of Small Steps to Bigger Love: A Practical Guide to Marriage as a Spiritual Practice (2015).


Building a dream team

This session focuses on how to build an inspired, empowered, and thriving team - how to work together in a mutally fulfilling way with your teammates, volunteers, parental mentors, etc.

Heather Thalheimer enjoys discovering and teaching practical ways to apply the Divine Principle and Unification Thought in everyday life. Heather is proud of the many leadership teams that have built, sustained and improved Camp Aurora over its many years of operation. Heather is Co-founder of WholeHearted (beingwholehearted.com) and co-created Principles to Live By. She also serves as the Parental Advisor to Massachusetts' Youth Ministry. 

Letisha Ferabolli is one of the Youth Pastors in the Massachusetts community. A Graduate of Worcester State University with a degree in Sociology, she currently works as a Parent Counselor at the Seven Hills Foundation.
